| Appalling, unacceptable and intolerable were just some of the words reverberating in Ottawa shortly after Jean Chretien's retirement, after Auditor General Sheila Fraser tabled her damning report on the government's cancelled federal sponsorship program. Paul Martin, just starting in his role as Prime Minister distanced himself from Sponsorship program and pledged to get to the bottom of what soon became known as 'Adscam'. |
