Heavy rain, rampant growth and absentee landlords have combined to send weed and property complaints spiralling in July. Even the city can't keep up with grass growth on parks and playing fields.
Ticked-off neighbours have lodged a staggering 562 complaints in July about overgrown lawns and yards scattered with garbage.
"It looks like a forest," said Tasha Moore, who lives near Mohawk College, of a series of homes in her neighbourhood.
Moore says the weeds cause her allergies to flare up on her walk home from work.
"It's just an eyesore," said Moore, who has not put in a complaint to the city. "It decreases the property values of the other homes in the area."
Complaints lodged with the city have already outpaced complaints from last July by almost 25 per cent.

Hamilton has been doused by more than 300 millimetres of rain since May, three times more than last year.
