The last moments of a Polish immigrant who was killed by a Canadian police officer's Taser stun gun have been caught on video.
Robert Dziekanski, 40, had flown to Vancouver on Oct 13 to begin a new life with his mother, who already lives there. But due to a mix-up, he had been waiting for her for 10 hours in the baggage area.
Police shoot coma victim on bus
Muttering to himself in Polish, and exhausted and confused at her absence, Mr Dziekanski, a construction worker, began acting erratically at around 1am.
A video, shot by a passenger, Paul Pritchard, showed Mr Dziekanski jamming open the doors between the secure baggage zone and throwing a computer on the floor.
Four police officers later arrived and started talking to him. He could be seen walking away. The officers then surrounded him and one shot him with a taser.
He fell, screaming in pain, and a voice was heard yelling: "Hit him again, hit him again." The four officers pinned him down as Mr Dziekanski twitched and then lay still. He died minutes later.
Police had reportedly claimed that Mr Dziekanski had fought the officers but the video shows otherwise. Source...
