Our top elected official now has an e-mail address under an alias for internal use at City Hall.

From now on, those e-mailing Mayor Fred or Fred Eisenberger will have their messages checked by staffers.

No worries though, Eisenberger promises all of the e-mails will be read and he'll see what he needs to see.

"We're basically trying to streamline the process so we don't get bogged down with me having to do hundreds of e-mails on a given day," the mayor says.

As for the alias he's using, Eisenberger wouldn't tell. He said that would defeat the purpose, but we hear the name is funny and there's a Frederick involved.
