McLellan says no threat on Canadian soil
Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan assures Canadians that there is no threat on our soil as Londoners faced the second set of blasts in two weeks.

Hours after near-simultaneous blasts struck three London Underground stations and a bus, McLellan issued a statement saying there is no "specific threat against Canada at this time."

"I would like to assure Canadians that we are remaining vigilant and that Transport Canada, the Government Operations Centre, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), jointly with other law enforcement agencies, are taking appropriate measures to protect Canadians based on ongoing threat assessments," she says.

"Transport Canada has contacted transit authorities, ports and airports to ensure they remain in a heightened state of vigilance," McLellan says.

A spokesman in Prime Minister Paul Martin's office said he was informed of the blasts immediately after news broke.

The explosions come days after McLellan warned Canadians not to get complacent over the possibility of terror attacks on their own soil. Source.
