Prosecutors in the Air India bombing case have been given an extension on their deadline to decide whether to appeal the judge's decision.
They will be given until May 13 to appeal the acquittals of two men charged in the worst mass murder in Canadian history.
In B.C. Supreme Court on March 16, Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh Bagri were found not guilty of murder and conspiracy charges in the 1985 bombing of an Air India flight.
Prosecutors argued they needed an additional 30 days to review the 572 pages of material from the judge's ruling.
Public Safety Minister Anne McLellan met with about 20 relatives of victims of the tragedy in Toronto on Tuesday, who are demanding for a public inquiry into the terrorist attack.
McLellan told reporters after the meeting that she was confident that an "eminent person," whom she has yet to appoint, would be able to identify issues that need to be investigated.
