Radio personality Bob Bratina, 60, won a by-election for Hamilton city council yesterday, beating a slate of 10 challengers that included Judy MacDonald-Musitano, 45, wife of ex-mobster Tony Musitano.
Musitano — who was convicted in the 1980s of helping set up a gangland slaying and several bombings, but now runs a dry-cleaning business with his wife — said this summer his underworld days are over. "We launder shirts, not money," he said.
The seat was vacated by MPP Andrea Horwarth in May. Art Samson, 65, a former Dundas town councillor, won a second by-election yesterday, for a seat vacated by MP Russ Powers.
